cadmium plating

Plating is a manufacturing process in which a thin layer of metal coats a substrate. This can be achieved through electroplating, which requires an electric current, or through electroless plating, which is in autocatalytic chemical process. Electroplated cadmium is a robust and versatile metallic coating. Cadmium is a soft white metal that, when plated onto metals, functions as a coating to prevent corroding before the substrate material.
